07/11/2023Did you know that in order to keep our food bank stocked and running, our staff takes time out of their busy work days and weekends to collect from 6 different stores across Bolton? This includes Farnworth, Breightmet and Middlebrooke. 😲With the increase in demand and taking on more collections to meet that demand our team has been struggling to meet all of these collections and keep up with our usual standard of work behind the scenes.With this in in mind we’re asking for help. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated but we’re looking for someone who can take on the collections, even if all you can do is the Saturday pickups it would be a massive help to us. 17/03/2023We were invited by ‘Bolton Wanderers in the Community’ to join them in a joint event with ‘The Girls Rights Network’ on the 16th March 2023. The event covered women and girls involvement in sports and how to encourage more girls and women to join sports in their schools and communities. We sent our social media manager along to the all day event at Bolton Wanderers Stadium and she reported back very positively about the event. Each talk encouraged people to get involved with physical activity or mindfulness practices being demonstrated. One of the activities offered a tour of the stadium, where the participants got to walk around the entire building, seeing the press room, locker rooms and the pitch up close. Overall the event was very positive and gave new insight into how women and girls are generally not encouraged to get involved in sports and ways in which we can change that. Bolton Asda store community champion, Christine Baldwin, presented ‘Harmony Youth Project’ with a donation of £1,000 on behalf of the Asda Foundation. We did a photo shoot with the children and they were over the moon with the new hats and bags they received. 15/03/2019We at Harmony Youth Project in Halliwell have recently been awarded three laptop computers from Prestfield Wealth Management. Prestfield Wealth Management are a financial advice company based on Prestwich High Street. Liam Hunt, head of client relationships said “we are very proud to have chosen Harmony Youth Project as our charity of the year, we have seen how they have a fresh and modern approach to youth work and tackle some of the most sensitive and relevant issues that the youth of today face” Liam Hunt and John Myatt, who are both regular visitors at Harmony presented the laptops to some of our young people, Zoe, Chantel and Scott, the computers will be used for project research but also for education in how to use email, Microsoft Office and job search to facilitate those looking for full time employment.
